Broad Exhibit.

Today was a good day. First I got my hair done. Then Sage & I went to the Broad Exhibit at LACMA . I fancy myself a good photographer too. Check out my shots. And last but not least Sage took me to see Sex and The City. I loved it.

Friday Night with Rami & Friends

We went to dinner Friday night with Theresa(Tree Clothing), Alan and Mike to Canele. Much to my delight we ran into Rami, his gorgeous boyfriend Jeff and friends. Luckily they were sitting at the communal table with just enough seats for us. We had a great time and a fabulous dinner. I highly recommend the beef tenderloin.

Pants

I read this great article in the June issue of Vogue. The New Pant pg. 84.
"Something peculiar is going on with pants, as no female with an eye for a well cut trouser can have failed to notice. In unavoidable numbers of collections, crotch levels for summer plummeted to somewhere between mid-thigh and mid-calf, so that on some runways, the models were walking with the fabric bagges, bunched and looped low between their legs. Speaking purely for myself, I was aghast."
It goes on to mention the designers that showed these pants. Among them were Phillip Lim ( whom I adore) , Gucci, YSL, Oliver Theyskens and Marc Jacobs.
"Both Pilati and Marc Jacobs, meanwhile, were of a mind to try pleats, combined in some instances with giant curved volumes on the outside of the leg."
Sounds like my pant I showed at Bryant Park. See above photo. I guess I am in good company!

Idol (part 2)

Yippee ! I had dinner last night at one of my favorite restaurants Osteria la Buca with one of my favorite people Jim Cantiello. Jim was here to recap the Idol Finale. You must check it out . He is hysterical.I would also suggest eating at OLB because it is the best homemade pasta EVER. Plus the staff is so friendly. PS William Baldwin was sitting behind us.

Idol (part 1)

I was invited by my friend Andy to watch part 1 of Idol with a bunch of handsome men. It was in the most gorgeous house of my new friend Max Mutchnick. He is one of the creators of Will & Grace.Let's just say he is super fabulous. Dinner was amazing and then we all jumped onto the HUGE couch for our screening comfort. I never watch Idol (but I watch JimCantiello's Recap on MTV) so I was routing for the Archadorable one. All the guys were sort of over him but I thought he sang great , had picked better songs and was just toooooo cute.
Oh and Dino the butler served us coffee and dessert with such grace.

At Malo I ran into so many friends with my favorite being my newest friend Ryan. Isn't she gorgeous.

We had a great time. The fashion show was inspiring. Amazing designers showed. The Beautiful Family
Alisha & Brant
Today was Brett's Birthday Brunch. We celebrated at thier home. Even though it was already a thousand degrees by 11:00AM it was great to be out on the deck overlooking Los Angeles. Unfortunately I was dressed to go to A fashion show so I didn't get to swim. I had a lovely time though,Gina is always a great hostess and the people are always the best. I didn't want to leave.
I am not sure but I think Brett was turning 29.

Americana at Brand

Valerie and 1/4 of Me
Me and some cute fans
Wow ! I finally went to the Americana. I have been so excited about it. There is an H&M, Barney's Co Op, Anthropologie, Kiehls, J. Crew, a movie theatre, Sur la Table. So exciting. Since Sage is still out of town, my best friend Valerie and I spent a good potion of the day here. First stop was H&M where I picked up afew dresses including a Maramekko print dress. I really really wanted the skirt but they actually sold out while I was in the dressing room. How amazing. I used to love when H&M was only in Europe and I would shop there on a trip, come back , and be the only one with it. Next was Anthropologie where Valerie was lost in the dishes. Outside I met some fans and took some photos with them. We headed off to Barney's Co Op then Keihls and J.crew. I was looking for the basic brown leather flip flop. J.Crew does a nice one. Of course I wore the most uncomfortable shoes so our next stop was Nail Station for a pedicure.

Spandex

Today I had deja vu when I had to work with spandex. Remember the Diva Challenge on Project Runway. Well I did a bit better here. I am designing costumes for a Dance Theatre Group. I tried to stay away from all shiny fabrics but that didn't work. Here is a mock up I made yesterday to see how the spandex would drape.

Resident Runway

Tonight I had my first public speaking appearance At UCLA. I was so nervous driving there. Once I arrived on campus I was met by Rita and taken to Covel Ballroom where I met Karen. I was treated so well and got the rundown of how the night would go. I would speak to a group of 300 kids for 45 minutes, then judge a fashion show, then meet and greet and go. I had so much fun I ended up eating dinner in the cafeteria with about 12 students.Karen kept telling me I could leave at any time but I was enjoying myself. The girls asked me if I wanted to go to Pinkberry in Westwood. I had to say no even though I love love love Pinkberry. My husband called me at 11:30PM and I decided I better go home. The Kids were awesome and the fashion show was Fierce.
